Classes in the Trumpington Pavilion and at Linton Village College
Beginners are always welcome at any time on Wednesdays at the Trumpington Pavilion. I also teach an adult education class at Linton Village College on Tuesday evenings.
|Tue 7pm – 8.30pm||Standing post, silk reeling and 9 Form||Linton Village College|
|Wed 7pm – 8pm||Standing post and silk reeling||Trumpington Pavilion|
|Wed 8pm – 9pm||Lao Jia Yi Lu||Trumpington Pavilion|
New students are welcome at any time. First taster classes are free on Wednesdays. Wear comfortable clothing and flat shoes.
Tuesday classes currently focus on standing post, silk reeling and 9 Form. 9 Form was created recently by Chen Xiaowang. The choreography of 9 Form is relatively easy to learn. It contains many of key movements of the other more traditional forms.
The Wednesday classes are from 7pm to 9pm. The first hour includes standing post and silk reeling. The second hour is currently on the Lao Jia Yi Lu form. This set of movements forms the mainstay of taijiquan practice. It emphasises soft, pliable and large movements that deepen the relaxation practices that are a key part of taijiquan.
For regular students, weekly lessons on Wednesdays are paid in advance at the first class in each new month. If you know you are not able to attend the whole month please inform me at the beginning of the month or earlier for a pro rata payment. Otherwise, there are no refunds if you miss a class during each month.
Each class on Wednesdays is one hour long. 40 pounds per month if you are attending one class each week and 60 pounds per month for two classes each week. The drop in rate is 15 pounds per one hour class, unless by prior arrangement.
For more details on the Tuesday class please see the Linton Village College website.
